ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF CLASS A PUSH PULL AMPLIFIER

ADVANTAGES OF CLASS A PUSH PULL AMPLIFIER

Because of the absence of even harmonics in the output it gives more output per active devices for a given amount of distortion or less distortion for a given output per transistor.

Eliminates Non-linear Distortion, that may arise due to the curvature of transformer magnetization curve.

Lower ripple Voltage

DISADVANTAGES OF CLASS A PUSH-PULL AMPLIFIER

The drawbacks of push-pull amplifiers are:-

Requirement of two identical or matched transistors.

It need the use of driver stage to furnish two equal and opposite voltages at the input

It requires Bulky and expensive Transformers
