rain alarm circuit
Lets Do a simple rain detecting alarm this rainy season.

This circuit will generate a melodious tone whenever rain starts. It doesn't uses any water sensing, complex components instead, by applying a Simple theory that Darlington pair will get triggered by applying a comparatively large Impedence on the input terminals.

You can replace the melodious tone with a siren, by replacing the IC UM66.

RAIN ALARM CIRCUIT EXPLANATION
---------------------------------------------------------

The Transistors Q1 and Q2 forms Darlington Pair, when a high Impedence (water) is given to its input it will trigger and generate an output voltage This voltage will trigger the alarming section containing UM66 IC and the Transistor Q3 will drive the Loudspeaker.

Power the circuit by a 9V Battery.

RAIN ALARM WORKING
---------------------------------------------------------

Keep the circuit inside your home, and extent the input terminals outside, where rain falls directly into it.

Try to Keep the terminals closer to each other and stuff them in an open tray.

The Circuit Starts alarming whenever their is rain.

Please Note:-

  • Keep the triggering terminals away from other water sources.

  • Avoid the possibility of getting short Circuited in the input, which may turn on the alarm.

  • Keep the sensing tray in open place such as Terrace, open grounds, etc.
